Leaving behind the disillusionment that followed the internet hype, it recently becomes apparent that the internet has already opened a new chapter within the urban retail: "online-shopping" and "local retail" become slowly a synthesis. The reason for this is not only an advanced implementation of technical application within the retail business, but also a changing behaviour of the consumer: The internet modifies the consuming culture by essential characteristics such as dialogical qualities, immediacy and an extended range of information. By this the local retailing is effected intensively.
